Apparel Sample Production
  • Design department-forecasting, designing, collection planning.
  • Sampling department- Pattern making, grading and sampling technology, construction of sample garment.
  • Marketing department- calendar, pricing, product planning, costumer, merchandising and sale.
  • Purchase department- supplies, prices, store keeping, inventory management
  • Finance department- Information management, administration, costing, budgeting.

Apparel Pre-production Production
  • Markers- planning, production, efficiency, methods of making
  • Spreading of fabric- requirements, methods, nature of fabric packages
  • Cutting – objectives, methods
  • Preparation before cutting-Fusing, ticketing and bundling- purposes and types
  • Fusing- advantages, requirements, processes, equipment, methods and quality control
  • Alternative methods of joining material: welding and moulding technology

Production
  • Production - production systems, production planning
  • Sewing- Stitch and Seam types( suitability and usage), Machinery and Equipment- Types of sewing machines-Basic lock stitch, chain stitch and over lock machines (Parts, function and Sewing Defects), Other machines- blind stitch, bar tack, button sewing and buttonholing
  • Sewing machine work Aids- Machine beds, Machine tables, Work chairs, Bundle clamps, Stackers, Various machine attachments

Post production
  • Quality Control -Definition of quality, seven tools of quality and consumers’ perception of quality, importance of quality assurance, quality assurance of raw material, pattern and fit.
  • Standards- benefits, levels and sources
  • Care labeling- importance, terminologies, symbols, usage, international care labeling system, eco-labeling.
  • Product Testing-  Test method development and Framework of test methods
  • Garment finishing- stain removal, cleaning, dry cleaning, pressing
  • Warehousing - handling equipment, storage equipment, packaging equipment, transportation issues
