The Department of Home Science of IIS (Deemed to be University) celebrated Children’s Day on November 14, 2024, at an Anganwadi Center in Heerapath with a series of engaging activities designed to bring joy and learning to young children. The event was organized to honor the birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, who strongly advocated for children's rights and education.
A total of 12 students from B.Sc (H) H.Sc (Semester I, III, & V), B.Sc/B.A EFE (Elective) Semester II, and M.Sc (HD) Semester II, actively participated in organizing and coordinating the activities. The event included fun games, coloring competition, popular nursery rhymes and action songs, to make the event lively and energetic.
As a token of love and encouragement, stationery items and chocolates were distributed to all the children. The children were delighted to receive these gifts, which not only brought smiles to their faces but also motivated them to engage in learning activities.
The event successfully created a joyful and positive atmosphere, allowing children to learn through play and interactive sessions. It also provided valuable exposure to university students, giving them firsthand experience in child engagement and community outreach. The event concluded on a cheerful note, with children and students expressing gratitude for the memorable experience.
