Objective: 

The course will enable the students-

  • To understand the stages of Human Development and their specific characteristics
  • To understand the developmental stages of infancy.
  • Understand the various developmental changes during childhood Understand the importance, development  and problems of childhood years

 

  • Film viewing and discussion on process of Ovulation, fertilization & child birth - Report Writing
  • Assessment of new born child  through APGAR test
  • Anthropometric measurement - height, weight and head circumference- studying inference as per WHO norms
  • Plan & use Methods of child study to assess the development of child  - Interview , Observations , Checklist, Narrative, Psychometric techniques
  • Plan and develop activities to facilitate development in different domains
  • Preparation of infant stimulation kit and planning infant stimulation program.
  • Observe the various reflexes of infants in child’s clinics
  • Presentation based on cultural practices related to pregnancy and infancy
