Date: 5 September 2024
Time: 11:30 AM
Venue: The IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur
Purpose of Visit:
15 students of M.Sc. (HD) Semester I and B.Sc/B.A EFE (Elective) Semester I students visited Saraswati Aanchal Day Care Centre at The IIS University, Jaipur on 5 September, 2024. The daycare center was established in 2010 under a UGC project by the Department of Human Development but is now independently managed by the department.
The daycare is supervised by Ms. Shelly Williamson, with assistance from a caretaker, Phula Baiji. The center accommodates 8 to 10 children and consists of three rooms—a dining room, a sleeping room, and an activity room. While meals are not provided, biscuits and light snacks are available in case of emergencies. Basic amenities such as RO drinking water and camera surveillance ensure the safety and well-being of the children. The daycare operates from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with a fixed fee structure and schedule based on the child's age and duration of stay.
During the visit, students observed the daily activities conducted at the daycare. They also took anthropometric measurements of the children, analyzed the data, and provided recommendations to both the children and their parents.
The visit helped students gain a comprehensive understanding of the functioning and management of a daycare center. It was a valuable and informative experience, offering hands-on learning about childcare operations and development.
