Clinical and Therapeutic Nutrition (Theory)

COFN121: Develop skills in applying the Nutrition Care Process effectively to screen, assess, and prescribe

appropriate diets and critically analyse complex interactions between diet, nutrients, and drugs

COFN122: Analyse the metabolic alterations, clinical manifestations, and potential complications of

gastrointestinal tract and liver-related diseases, and prescribe dietary modification based on the principles of

therapeutic nutrition

COFN123: Analyse the metabolic alterations, clinical manifestations, and complications of cardiovascular diseases and provide effective dietary interventions aimed at managing and preventing them

COFN124: Analyse the clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and treatment modalities for various metabolic disorders

and renal diseases and provide effective dietary interventions contributing to improved health outcomes and quality of life

COFN125: Analyse clinical manifestations, diagnosis, and complications of various medical conditions like,

surgery, burns, trauma, cancer, and metabolic disorders and prescribe dietary modification

Incidence, etiology, metabolic changes, clinical manifestations, complications, and dietary management of the following - Gastro-Intestinal Diseases and Disorders – Gastro Oesophageal Reflux Disorder (GERD), Hiatus Hernia, Gastritis, Diverticular disease, Peptic Ulcer, Haemorrhoids
Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome, Ulcerative Colitis, Short Bowel Syndrome.
Liver, Gall bladder and Pancreatic diseases
Liver Diseases –Liver Cirrhosis, Hepatic Encephalopathy (HE)/ Hepatic Coma,
