VISIT TO WOMEN AND CHILD WELFARE ORGANISATION (LADLI)

The students of M.Sc, Ist and IIIrd semester visited the organization “Ladli”, located in 74, Govindpuri, sodala, Jaipur on 30th September 2014. A total of 12 students escorted with Archana Kumari, Assistant Professor in the Department of Human Development, Home Science, explored the information regarding its organization structure; services provided; beneficiaries and other aspects.

All the information was provided to the students by Mrs. Darshna Goswami, the coordinator of Ladli.

Ladli is a self owned social enterprise of street children, young adults and women groups belonging to most disadvantaged communities. The main aim of Ladli is to enhance the social status of a girl child in society as well as in family and to provide economic security by providing vocational trainings to girls.

I-India is the Mother NGO of Ladli and under the umbrella of I-India many projects are run.  The services of I-India includes: Shelter Homes, School on Wheels, Shower Project, Annapurna Kitchen Project, Informal education, Computer Education, Vocational Training, Child Helpline and Women Empowerment. The project ensures empowerment and sustainable livelihood opportunities for its beneficiaries, by creating quality hand made products based on the principle of fair trade. It is being funded by Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of Rajasthan, Donations and contribution of local community.

The students visited the centre and interacted with the teachers, trainers etc. They also interacted with few beneficiaries of the organization to prepare their case studies. Not only the information was collected but students also bought few articles made by the incumbent of the organization with a positive thought of putting a drop in the ocean meant for their betterment.
