Visit to Counseling and Career Development Center (CCDC

The students of for M Sc Home science (Human Development) Sem I visited to Counselling and Career Development Center (CCDC) , The IIS University  on 8th August,2015  escorted by a Dr. Nalini Totuka.

It was started as a small initiative by the Department of Psychology. Ms. Monica Sharma is Clinical Psychologist & Counsellor at the center. The Centre is involved in the following activities: Psychometric testing,  Counselling & Vocational guidance sessions,  Life Skills coaching,  Creating awareness through street plays and flash mobs. A multitude of activities are planned in future by CCDC like career fair, development of a student database by devising emotional profile of each student. As part of its agenda to move out and touch base with the wider community of students, the cell is involved in different extension programs and consultancy services in various institutes.

Ms. Monica told us that the counseling is mostly done on education  and behavioural counseling. The counseling is free for the students of IIS University and faculty also. The cell also undertakes numerous internships all-round the year to provide the counselling enthusiasts first-hand experience in career and vocational counselling.
