Visit to Bhargava Psychiatry & De-addiction Hospital

On 10^th November 2023, four students of M.Sc. Home Science (Human Development) visited Child Brain Development Center at Bhargava Psychiatry & De-addiction Hospital which is located at Vijay Path Mansarover. The Hospital is equipped with ground + 3 floors. The Ground floor has reception area and Doctors’ chamber. The first floor is the residential area for the Psychiatric patients with a mini seating room, the second floor has an entertainment hall and 2 private rooms and one counseling chamber. The floor has Child Brain Development Center where different therapy facilities are available for special children. The CDC Centre treats conditions like cerebral palsy, Autism, ADHD, Down syndrome, Speech Delay, Muscular Dystrophy, Learning Disability, Sensory processing Disorder, Behavioral Difficulties.

During the visit the students interacted with the Occupational Therapist, Speech Therapist, Physiotherapist, and Behavioral Therapist and got the insight about various childhood disorders and the process of working with them. The students were also briefed about the goals and objective of the therapy and the activities done during that time-span.

Students observed the infrastructure of the center. The center had one Admin room, ABA Room, Special Education room, common hall and dining area and one dark room as well where lights are shown to children to fulfill their sensory diet. The queries of the students were answered by the therapist and the visit came to an end with a group photograph.
