INDUCTION MEETING

Held at International College for Girls, Jaipur (IGNOU PSC 2353)

On 14th February, 2016 at 12.30 pm 

 

An Induction meeting was organized by the International College for Girls, Jaipur, PSC 2353, IGNOU, on 14th February 2016 for the learners enrolled in different IGNOU programmes, viz. CFN, CNCC, DNHE, DECE, PGCFT, M.Sc CFT, M.Sc DFSM, MAWGS and MAPC for the session January 2016. A total of 82 new learners were enrolled at the centre, out of whom 35 learners attended the Induction meeting. The meeting started with a Welcome note by the Head of Institute Dr. Raakhi Gupta. She welcomed the Guest of Honour, Professor Pradeep Bhatnagar, Assistant Regional Director IGNOU, Dr. Indu Ravi and the new learners. She briefed the learners about journey of the institute from a college to a deemed University; and its role in successful conduction of various IGNOU programmes since 2005.  

Prof Pradeep Bhatnagar, Dean, Faculty of Science, The IIS University, highlighted importance of ‘Education’ in one’s life and emphasized its necessity at all age, irrespective of occupation, economic status and place. Dr. Ila Joshi, Programme Incharge, PSC 2353 gave detailed information about various programmes running at the center, their counseling schedules, duration of completion of programmes, evaluation scheme, date for submission of examination forms and assignments and the working hours of the centre. She also introduced the academic counsellors and the part time staff, IGNOU to the new learners. Dr. Indu Ravi, Assistant Regional Director IGNOU, Jaipur addressed the new learners and briefed them about the Indira Gandhi National Open University, its accomplishments, various programmes offered by IGNOU, IGNOU website; as well as answered the queries raised by learners. The meeting concluded with a formal vote of thanks proposed by Dr. Ridh Sidh Singh, Assistant Programme Incharge, PSC 2353.

Besides this, the part time staff distributed the Identity cards, confirmation letters and the study material to the learners. They also updated the residential address, email address and phone numbers of the learners.
