Visit to Mahatma Gandhi University of Medical Sciences & Technology, Jaipur to attend a training workshop

The students of M sc H Sc Foods & Nutrition Sem I, III and Ph D have participated in a training workshop and poster making competition organized by Department of Clinical Nutrition, Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Allied Health Sciences, Jaipur with Indian Dietetics Association & NETPROFAN, Jaipur on 15th September 2022 to celebrate National Nutrition Month. A total of 20 students have participated in the event and Prof. Ila Joshi was invited as a judge for poster presentation.

The session on Degenerative diseases was taken up by Prof. Sheel Sharma, Emeritus Professor, Department of Foods & Nutrition, Banasthali University, Banasthali, Tonk. DR Sharma has focused on the causes and dietary management of the diseases. His main motto was to emphasize on modification of life style to prevent the occurrence of these degenerative disorders.

His session was followed by poster presentation. The students of the host institute, Jaipur National University, University of Rajasthan and our University have participated in the competition. A total of 37 posters were displayed and were judged by Dr Shilpi Sharma, Associate Professor, Department of Allied Health Sciences, JNU, Jaipur and Prof. Ila Joshi, Department of Foods & Nutrition, IIS (deemed to be University), Jaipur. Total 11 students from our University have participated in the poster making competition and Ms Shobhana Mishra, research Scholar of the Department of Home Science has won the second position and Ms Yogita Karnani, Post graduate student of the Department has secured the third position.

Overall the session was very enlightening and poster presentation was very informative.
