A visit was organized by Department of Home Science, IIS (deemed to be UNIVERSITY) to FRUBON, Dev Milk Foods Pvt. Ltd. on 14th October 2023 for the students of M. Sc. H. Sc. (Foods and Nutrition) Sem I, B. Sc FSQM Sem I and COSD FSQ Diploma. A total of 12 members, 11 students and a faculty escort have visited the plant.

As soon as we reached the plant, we were taken to the seminar room, where the Assistant Director of FRUBON has briefed us about the processing of the plant. The dairy products which were produced and the total production of the items produced. He has also focused on the quality parameters which are maintained by FRUBON. They also have their quality control laboratory. He has briefly explained the tests performed there.

In the factory, Mohd. Shahid and Mr Rahul showed us the milk as well as ice cream and bakery production units. The staff there told us about the various food safety practices maintained for the production of products. They gave information about the factory infrastructure. The students have visited the milk processing plant which included the collection, pasteurization and packaging of milk in different size of packets.

Spread across an area of over 60,000 Sq., ft., the manufacturing plant is one of the most modern plants of Northern India. The plant is equipped with latest testing and manufacturing facilities.

They have taken special care for recycling and re-usage of water. The water recycled using ETP is utilized for cleaning & gardening. Provision for ample ventilation and fresh light has been kept to reduce the carbon footprint and dependency on electricity during day time.

Overall it was a very fruitful & enlightening visit.
