Visit to Day Care Center

The students of COSD certificate course in Early Childhood Care and Education visited the day care of IIS University on  12^th September 2019 with the teacher escorted Dr.  Nalini Totuka.

The staff of day care comprised of Supervisor, Ms. Shelly Williamson, two maids, Kalyani Baiji and Saroj. The total number of children in the centre is around 15-20. There are three rooms : Dining room, Sleeping room and Activity  room. The food is not provided to the children but in case of emergency biscuits and light snacks are provided to them. The fees structure of day care is  divided into three slots according to the arrival time of child.

The activities are conducted by students of Human department twice a week.  The activities are based on various aspects of development for their all round development of children. The timings of day care is 8.30 AM to 5 PM.

The COSD conducted the activities based on  finer motor   and cognitive development. The activities are planned according to the age group of the children. The students prepared a wall hanging based on Diwali theme.

The other activity is on cognitive development. The students have taken the concept of vegetables. They have prepared flash card for the young children to understand the concept.

The students understood the working and structure of  Day care. The visit was fruitful as students get in depth knowledge of day care.
