The students of MSc HSc (HD) Sem III and BSc HSc (H) Sem III visited SOS village on 4th October 2019. SOS Children's Villages has been present in India since 1963 and  developed rapidly all over the country and  started activities in Jaipur in 1976. The SOS Children's Village Jaipur is located in a residential area, around two kilometres from the railway station, and was built on a site which was donated to SOS Children's Villages. SOS work in close partnership with local agencies of jaipur and community-based organisations in order to identify children who have lost parental care, and families who are in need of support from the  family-strengthening programme provided by SOS.

In addition to providing family-based care to children who are orphan, they also support vulnerable families so that they can stay together. SOS Social Centres run a  programme to strengthen family which offers a comprehensive package of services to enable families to stay together and take good care of their children.

The majority of the families in the SOS Family Strengthening Programme are headed by females. Women from poor  social and economic conditions  and are needy do  struggle to keep their children healthy and well nourished.

There were total 196 children in SOS , 92 girls and 104 boys. There are14 SOS families, where they grow up with their sisters and brothers. Every home is known by different name i.e. Neer etc. Each home has mother and there are approximately 13-14 members in one family. Every home has 3 bedrooms, drawing room and kitchen.

SOS also provides Kindergarten day care for young children. There is a proper school for the new children. They are taught there till they prepared for proper schooling.  Older children go to the local schools, college and universities as per their interest and requirement. The children from SOS families take part in many activities organised  in the SOS campus and those from nearby families also participate in festivals that they celebrate.

There is computer centre also in the SOS which is well equipped with  the computers. The teacher visit there and teach them about basic skills in Computer. SOS village also has first aid facility for all the members.

The students were very much impressed with the school ,their management and infrastructure.
