The Department of Home Science organised a one day “FSSAI FOSTAC TRAINING” on 15th May 2019 for the final year students of BSc (PC), BSc (hons)Home Science and MSc (Foods and Nutrition), faculty of the department and non teaching staff members.

The trainer was Mr Vikash Kumar Gautam, Trainer and Auditor, FSSAI (Food Safety and Standards Authority of India), New Delhi. The speaker was welcomed with floral greetings by Dr. Ila Joshi, Professor & Head , Department of Home Science. Thirty six participants enrolled for the training. The training was titled ‘Food safety supervisor- Manufacturing (Hygienic and sanitary practices for food general manufacturing, Advanced level II’. Training started at 9:00 am. The training was divided into four sessions, which were further subdivided into sections covering the various aspects of the training like food safety, pest control, control of operations, food testing, audit, product information, FSMS planning etc. the sessions were interactive wherein the queries of the participants were answered. There were short breaks in between the sessions for tea and lunch. An exam was conducted at the end of the training in order to assess the learning and for providing certificate of the training. Feedback forms were also filled at the end. The participants gained a lot of information from the training.
