Demonstration on Souffle Preparation

A demonstration on preparation of soufflés was organised by department of home-science on 26th August 2019. The demonstration was attended by students of BSc. Home-science- semester I, Semester III and semester V, Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics Semester I and FSQM Semester III. In all 30 students benefitted from the activity. The demonstration was held in Lab C-305 in the Home-Science Department

Pastry Chef Mr Chandan Kumar Baral from Hotel Hilton Jaipur conducted the demonstration. He had a vast experience in Bakery and has worked with many International chains of hotels in India as well as abroad.

He taught the students the basics of foam desserts and the skills required in preparation of cold soufflés. He also emphasized upon the importance of accurate weighing and measuring in dessert preparation.

Mr. Baral gave demonstration on 4 variants of Souffles-

  1. Lemon Souffle
  2. Chocolate Souffle
  3. Mocha Souffle
  4. Mango and Mint Souffle

All the soufflés were amazingly delicious and the students as well as present faculty really enjoyed the demonstration. Many students were actually first time initiated to this classic French dessert. It was a huge learning experience for students.His guidance and experience sharing was indeed commendable.

Chef Chandan Baral was introduced by Ms. Arshiya Sheikh(BSc. HomeSc. Sem V) and  presented with a memento by Dr. Ila Joshi ( Head of the Department) as a token of appreciation.  The vote of thanks was given by Ms. Yogita Karnani. The overall activity was coordinated by Ms. Simran Singh.
