Introduction to elements of design in Textiles
  • Line and Form– Geometric, Simplified, Naturalized, Stylized and Abstract.          
  • Colour – Colour Wheel, Intensity Scale, Gray Scale and Value Scale.

Creating motifs

Creating motifs- enlarging and reducing, design and patterns for different placement and usages.

Preparation of scrap book of traditional textile.

Introduction to Fashion Sketching:
  • Components for flat sketching- sleeve&cuffs, collars, necklines, skirts, bodice, plackets, yokes, pockets, closures, trimmings, ruffles & flounces.
  • Dressing up of croqui for lower and upper garment( using template)

Introduction to:
  • Basic hand stitches : Temporary- Basting ; Permanent- Hemming, Running, Back stitch, Slip stitch, Button hole, Invisible hemming & overcastting.
  • Decorative hand stitches :  Lazy Daizy Satin, Chain, Stem, Bullion, French Knot & Herringbone.
