This course will enable the students :

Fiber Identification
- Visual, burning, microscopic & chemical

Yarn testing
- Identification of yarn (tpi – twist per inch).
- Measuring and interpretation of yarn count- Direct and Indirect system.

Fabric testing
- Determination of Thread count and Balance
- Determination of Dimensional Stability
- Evaluation of Color Fastness- Wash, Light, Crock and Perspiration.
- Evaluation of fabric weight in terms of gsm

Weaving
- Study different parts of loom and their working.
- Identification of weaves and their design interpretation of basic weaves on graph.

Dyeing and Printing
- Tie and Dye using various techniques on cotton.
- Block Printing on cotton using pigments
