a) Children’s Literature- Historical overview of the development of children’s literature in India and other countries, Types of children’s literature, role of literature in a child’s development, appropriateness and criteria for selection , evaluation of available children’s literature.
b) Values of books and reading in early years, developing reading habits.
c) Writing Children’s literature - Principles and methods of effective writing, rules of grammar, sentence construction, paragraphing, narration, sequence, logic.
d) Principles of analyzing literature, reviewing novels
