Objective: 
  • To understand the structure of bone and identify common bone and joint diseases, their underlying causes, signs & symptoms, and complications
  • To understand the role of modified diet and life style in the management of the bone and joint diseases and their complications

 

By the end of the course the student is expected to:

 

1. Integrate all related aspects of skeletal system from basic sciences to clinical.

2. Gain appropriate knowledge about normal and abnormal structures and functions of bones and joints.

3. Analyze the diagnosis, and recommend the treatment, and dietary and lifestyle management strategies for diseases of bones and joints.

  • Synovial – shoulder joint, elbow joint, proximal and distal radioulnar joints, wrist joint, joints of the hands and fingers, hip joint, knee joint, ankle joint, joints of foot and toe.
