Objective: 

This course will enable the students to –

  1. Create awareness of embroidered, dyed and printed textile heritage of India.
  2. Understanding of regional embroideries developed by various communities.
  3. Appreciate the evolution of various textiles over a period of time.

  • Uttar Pradesh-Chikankari
  • Karnataka-Kasuti.
  • West Bengal-Kantha.
  • Rajasthan –gottapatti
  • Tie & Dye
  • Block Printing
  • Batik           
  • Kalamkari, Madhubani, Pichawai and Warli art
  • Visit to craft centers and museum                                                      (6 Hours)
  • Product development- Preparation of an article incorporating any Traditional Indian Textile/Techniques.                                                               (20 Hours)
