  • Support of workforce: teachers, parents and community support in functioning of ECE centers
  • General principles to curricular approaches – activity based/ play-way, child- centred, theme-based, holistic, joyful, inclusive using story-telling, puppetry, musical and rhythmic exercises, dramatization, role-play, art activities, indoor and outdoor play, field trips and explorations.

Methods of Child study
  • Program planning – concepts of curriculum, curriculum models, basic principles, types of pre school programs.
  • Literature for young children.
  • Institutions catering services to the needs of children- pre-school centers,  anganwadis, crèches, day care, special schools, general introduction of services  provided.
  • Role and qualification of ECE personnel.
  • Principles and significance of annual, monthly, weekly and daily planning.
  • Methods of studying children.
  • Cross-sectional and longitudinal approaches.Observation techniques, Interview, questionnaire.Projective techniques.
  • Consideration while selecting methods to study children.
  • Methods of Teaching with children- Lecture Method, Demonstration Method, Discussion Method, Project Method, Problem Solving Method, Filed Trip Method, Role Playing.
  • Use of Audio - Visual Aids, Charts, Posters, Models, Film strip, Film Projector, Work Book.
