Objective: 

This course will enable the students to –

  1. Critically explain therapies, techniques of counseling, process of counseling and ethics in counseling
  2. Apply counseling skills and cognitive therapies to practice counseling process.
  3. Understand the qualities and skills of a good counselor and different approaches to counseling
  4. Understand the socio-emotional development during childhood years.
  5. Apply the knowledge of various domains of development in understanding the developmental delay in children and plan intervention accordingly

  • Preparing Personalized Intervention plan for Students with Learning Difficulties
  • Visit to local counselling/ Child Guidance clinic and observation of cases
  • Analysis of real self and Ideal self using Semantic Differential Scale
  • Practice of Counselling skills -SOLER
  • Practice of Counselling skills -EISPU
  • ABC functional analysis using work sheets
