Objective: 

This course will enable students

  • To develop low cost recipes-weaning foods for infants and supplementary foods for all ages.
  • Identification of the problem, planning and implementation of several community based projects

 

CONTENTS

 1. Development and sensory evaluation of various low cost recipes to combat dual burden of malnutrition

  1. Protein energy malnutrition
  2. Iron deficiency
  3. Vitamin A deficiency

2.  Use and interpretation of growth charts.

3. Planning and Implementation of a Nutrition and Health Education programme
