Objective: 

 

This course would enable the students to -

1.      Observe and assess children’s development.

2.      To expose the students to various welfare institutions.

Content :

  1.  Measuring development in children : physical, motor, cognitive, socio- emotional, creativity- studying various developments of a child through observation, interviews, questionnaire, case study , projective techniques (CAT),
  2. Graphical presentation and interpretation of Height, weight and circumference measures of pre school child.
  3. To visit selected welfare institutions catering to the needs of children –ECE  centres, anganwadis, crèches, day care and brief reporting of-

           a.   Physical set up

           b.   Objectives

           c.   Teaching strategies

           d.   Positive and negative aspects

           e.   Suggestions for Improvement

4. Report on survey of child rearing method prevailing in 5 families.

5.  Counseling parents for various behavior problems in children.

6.  Concept formulation- Concept of relationships (Shape,Size, Weight, time, Colour ) ,Pre reading and pre writing skills of pre school children.
