  • This course will enable the student to apply the theoretical concepts on laboratory practices.

 

 

Major experiment- volumetric analysis: (any two)

 

(i)                 Determination of acetic acid in commercial vinegar using NaOH

(ii)               Estimation of total hardness of water by EDTA.

(iii)             Determination of ferrous by dichromate method.

 

Minor Experiments- Preparations (any three)

 (i) Preparation of soaps, detergents

 (ii) Preparation of antiseptic-  Iodoform,

 (iii) Preparation of anti  analgesic -  Aspirin

 

Demonstration exercise-

To find out pH of different solutions by pHmeter instrument and pH paper. Preparation of Buffer solutions.( carbonate buffer)
