Objective: 

Course Objectives:

This course will enable the students to –

  1. Develop professional approach towards the designing for textiles.
  2. Enhance their aesthetic sense in decorating the textiles.

Develop understanding and basic skills of drawing and coloring along with introduction to various arts medium

The students will be able to –

 

CO37: Apply elements of design in textiles designing

CO38: Create various textures to design textiles

CO39: Develop skills for designing home textiles and application of various colour mediums

 

CO40: Create compositions using various colour schemes

CO41: Illustrate skills of drawing and usage of various art mediums.

CONTENTS
Introduction to elements of designin Textiles:                                                         12 hrs
Line and Form– Geometric, Simplified, Naturalized, Stylized and Abstract.
Colour – Colour Wheel, Intensity Scale, Gray Scale and Value Scale.
 
Creating motifs:                                                                                                      12 hrs
Enlarging and reducing of motifs 
Design and patterns for different placement and  usage       
 
Textures in nature 6 hrs
Creating design sheets using various colour schemes.                                          10 hrs
Application of various colour mediums on fabric- fabric colours, pigment dyes,      10 hrs
metallic colours and pearl colours.
 
Design development for any two home textiles/apparel using any of the above     10 hrs
mentioned  colour techniques.
