guest lecture on “Prevalence of Anemia & Anemia Mukt Bharat” and “Career perspective in Public Nutrition”

On the occasion of National Nutrition Month (1^{st -}30^thSeptember)  the department has organized a guest lecture on “Prevalence of Anemia & Anemia Mukt Bharat” and “Career perspective in Public Nutrition” by Dr Molshree Rathore, Nutrition Consultant, JHPIEGO, Jaipur on 2^nd September 2019 at 11:00 am in Ojas Hall. All the students of B.Sc (H) Home Science Sem V, B.Sc (P) course Sem V (CND), M.Sc. Foods and Nutrition Sem I and III have attended the lecture.

She has focussed on the prevalence of Anemia in India with special emphasis on Rajasthan. She has also discussed the latest mortality and morbidity data of infants and pregnant mothers. The present status of anemia among adolescent girls was also discussed. She has also thrown light on the etiology, symptoms, treatment & prevention of anemia in different age groups.

Dr Molshree has talked about  Anemia Mukt Bharat also, it is a strategy adopted By government to reduce anemia By 2022. She has highlighted all the steps taken By our honourable Prime Minister to combat anemia and improve the health status of our country.

Lastly, as she has worked closely with the government departments, she has discussed about the career opportunities on public nutrition.

Overall it was a very enlightening lecture and the students have also asked various questions on anemia and about career opportunities.
