The Department of Home Science in collaboration with Rotary Club of Jaipur Gurukul organised a webinar to celebrate World Breast-feeding Week (1st-7th August) on the topic "Breastfeeding and post-natal exercises to get in shape after pregnancy” on 14th Aug 2021. The event was moderated by Ms. Vyoma Agarwal. The resource person for session was Dr. Anjali Phatak who is currently holding the position of Director at Nutripulse, Jaipur, is a renowned Senior Clinical Nutritionist having Experience of 24yrs in the field of Nutrition and Diet.
The speaker emphasized on the importance of breast feeding for mother and child, diet that can be taken by mothers post-delivery, special foods which are good for lactation as well as their own health. She highlighted the various exercises that can be done at home like yoga, pilates, kegan etc, to lose weight and inches gained during pregnancy. She emphasized the need to be patient while losing weight after delivery as it could adversely affect mother’s and child’s health. The session ended with queries that were answered by the guest.
The session was enthusiastically attended by students, faculty members and Rotarians.
