An industrial visit by the Department of Home Science for the session 2019-20 was organised to FruBon (Dev Milk Foods Pvt. Ltd) on 25th Sept 2019 wherein 25 students participated. The visit helped the students to know the various methods of milk processing practically through interaction and observation.
Dev Milk Foods (DMF) Pvt. Ltd manufactures markets & sells its products under FruBon brand. Frubon is DMF's most ambitious project that deals with Diary, Ice cream and Bakery products and is spread throughout the state of Rajasthan.
The plant is divided into two parts: Dairy plant and Ice – cream manufacturing plant. Students were divided into two batches and taken to both plants alternately. They were explained the production and manufacturing process of milk, curd, paneer and buttermilk in the former and in the latter about the ice cream production and storage. Also, there was an introduction about certain machines like "homogeniser", etc. Students were also taken to a room with extremely low temperature called "blast room" wherein the ice creams are allowed to set.
After the visit to both parts of the plant, there was an interactive session with Senior Manager of the plant where the students asked many questions. In the end FruBon ice-cream was served to all students to have an idea about the products of the company.
