Objective: 

This course will enable the students to-

  1. To focus on design details, creation of styles and rendering techniques using different colour mediums.

2.To enhance the creative skills of drawing, sketching and rendering colours for designing garments and accessories based on themes.

3.To provide the details about importance of portfolio in fashion field.

4.To develop the creativity in creating designs for various textures and prints to suit the figures and sizes.

Unit I: 
CONTENTS

Prepare a portfolio through manual and CAD (Photoshop & Corel Draw) sketching for fashion illustration.

  • Introduction to illustration: Stick figure drawing- Basic 8 head Croqui -Basic 10 head Croqui- ¾ pose, side pose & back poses– movements- fleshing and skin rendering.                                                                (20 Hours)
  • Sketch costumes for men, women and children and accessories for the following periods:
  • Baroque and Rococo periods:  France and England       (20 Hours)
  • French revolution and thereafter (1790 AD-1900 AD)
    • The Directoire and Empire period (1790AD-1820AD)
    • The Romantic period (1820A.D-1850AD)
    • The Crinoline period (1850 AD- 1869AD) 45
    • The Bustle period (1870 AD-1900 AD)
    • Beginning of Couture
    • Looks and Designers of 21st Century.
  • Developing a line of garment & accessories based on theme and fabrics selected for:                                                                     (20 Hours)

  •           Sportswear/ Executive wear
  •           Bridal wear/Evening wear
