Objective: 

This course will enable the students to –

  • Apply knowledge of principles of assessment of children with disabilities to plan for their management.
  • Understand the various roles shared by the members in a family and familial relationships.
  • Understand family by drawing three generational family tree.
  • Evaluate the family as a functioning Unit.

CO365: Design a poster on children's developmental challenges, schedule case study collection, and plan community inclusion for two disabilities and an inclusive school.

CO366: Create an inclusive lesson plan, prepare an accessibility checklist for mainstream schools, and list government and volunteer roles in managing developmental challenges.

CO367:Compile comprehensive practical records on disabled children and cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners

CO368: Contribute effectively in course specific interaction.

Unit I: 
CONTENTS
  • Prepare schedules to collect case studies from children with developmental challenges.
  • Enlist the role of government and voluntary organizations in management of children with developmental challenges
  • Institutional visits to collect case studies of the following. a) Mentally Challenged b) Hearing Impaired c) Visual impaired d) Orthopedically handicapped e) Socially maladjusted
  • Institutional visit to plan and implement intervention programmes for any one type of challenged.
  • Community Involvement for Inclusion of any two Disabilities & an Inclusive school & write observation report highlighting pedagogy
  • Prepare a Checklist for Accessibility in Mainstream Schools for Children with Disabilities
  •  Design a Poster on developmental challenges of children
  •  Prepare a Lesson Plan on any one School subject of your choice using any one Inclusive Academic Instructional Strategy
