Objective: 

This course will enable the students to –

 

  1. Describe Curriculum Planning, elements & features of early childhood education Curriculum
  2. Critically appreciate different Contemporary Models & Approaches  to Curriculum Planning and select the appropriate which is meaningful for children in the foundational years
  3. Able to critically evaluate the National Curriculum Framework for Foundation Stage, 2022
  4. Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for language & Literacy at Foundation stage.
  5. Design and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum for Mathematics and world around us at Foundation stage.

CO27: Design theme based lesson plan, curriculum based on different approaches and activities for developing children’s Language & literacy skills/mathematical skills

CO28: Prepare & conduct a puppet show/storytelling session in ECCE classroom & relate the existing curriculum of Aganwadi and private preschools with the principles outlined in the NCF, 2022.

CO29: Compile comprehensive practical records  by designing curriculum and activities for ECCE based on recent trends   and cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners

CO30: Contribute effectively in course specific interaction

CONTENTS

 

  • Evaluate how the curriculum of Anganwadi centers and private preschools aligns with the principles outlined in the National Curriculum Framework for Foundation Stage, 2022.
  • Prepare four teaching aids in  Language & literacy skills/mathematical skills with an explanation as to how they can be used in an inclusive classroom.
  • Plan a theme based lesson plan for children at foundation stage to impart them with language, literacy and mathematical  skills.
  • Prepare two lesson plans with learning outcomes on topics given in the books at primary level (Class I & II).
  • Plan and perform a puppet show/storytelling session including questions, prompts, and activities to engage children throughout the narrative.
