Objective: 

This course will enable the students to

  1. Demonstrate an understanding of issues that may affect the development and functioning of students
  2. Understand the principles and skills needed for counselling children and adolescents
  3. Gain knowledge and application of evidence-based research and practice in child and adolescent to assist students, families, and educators in using resources that promote informed academic, career, and personal/social choices
  4. Understand ethical and legal considerations related specifically to the practice of child and adolescent counselling
  5. Coordination, collaboration, referral, and team-building efforts with teachers, parents, support personnel, and community resources to develop promotive and preventive interventions

CO345:Prepare theme related brochure & pamphlet, an awareness generation campaign in community and mock counselling session.

CO346: Analyse hypothetical case records, organization working in the field of child and adolescent, guidance & Counselling needs and case illustrations.

CO347:Compile comprehensive practical records by planning need based counselling sessions, analyzing cases and working of organizations and cultivate verbal communication skills to converse effectively with examiners

CO348: Contribute effectively in course-specific interaction

CONTENTS
  • To review an organization working in the field of child and adolescent counseling.
  • To analyse the hypothetical case record on child and adolescent problems.
  • To conduct an awareness generation campaign in the community, regarding aspects and issues pertaining to child and adolescent well-being
  • Case illustration of childhood problems.
  • Prepare  theme related brochures, pamphlets etc. for guidance &Counseling
  • Mock Counseling session situation based activity using counseling techniques- Rapport technique, questioning, listening, reflection, acceptance, silence, leading, reassurance, non- verbal cues, terminating skills.
  •  Need assessment of individual guidance and counseling by suitable tool.
