Objective: 
This course will enable the students to :
1. Get acquainted with the various methods of studying characteristics and  behavior in various handicaps.  
2. Get acquainted with the various methods of  measuring the physical and intellectual capabilities of individual.
3. Understand the problems of handicaps and their mainstreaming.

Concept of Differently Abled Children
a) Concept. Definition of exceptional children, needs, impairments, disability, handicap.
b) Classification & approaches to identification, treatments and rehabilitation. 
c) Causes and effects of various disabilities on individual.
d) Rights of children with special needs.
e) Programs and policies for children with special needs.

Orthropaedic and Sensory Deficits
a) Definition, causes, assessment , treatment, education and rehabilitation -
Orthopedic handicaps
