Objective: 

1. To develop an understanding of elements of design.                                                  

       2. To develop a professional approach towards the thematic designing for textiles

       3. To develop the aesthetic sense in decorating the textiles.

4.  To develop skills of designing in students.

 

1   Introduction to elements of design in Textiles                                                   

  • Line and Form– Geometric, Simplified, Naturalized, Stylized and Abstract.          
  • Colour – Colour Wheel, Intensity Scale, Gray Scale and Value Scale.

2.   Creating motifs- enlarging and reducing, design and patterns for different placement and     usages                                                                                                                    

  • Application of design – Nature study                                                                        
  • Creating design sheets using various colour schemes.
  • Various colour mediums on fabric- free hand painting using
  • Fabric colours, pigment dyes, metallic colour, pearl colour.
