Objective: 

This course will enable the students to :

  1. Understand the foundations and historical roots  of a family systems approach to counseling.
  2. To remember the classic schools of family therapy.
  3. Apply the professional, ethical, legal, and cross-cultural issues related to practicing family therapy in counselling
  4. Understand  practice on implementing various approaches to family therapy.
  5. Analyze  one’s own theory of family therapy.
  6. Evaluate  family of origin to understand how it impacts on you and your work with families.
  7. Remember adept a practicing assessment of families.

COHD95: Examine the goals, types, essentials, and factors of counselling and family therapy.

COHD96: Analyse the relationship between the therapist and client and develop an understanding of the professional approach, ethics, therapeutic climate, and skills required counselling.

COHD97: Appraise the knowledge about the counselling process.

COHD 98: Discuss the counselling interview techniques used during counselling.

COHD99: Discuss the importance of counselling therapies and psychoeducation.

COHD100: Contribute effectively in course specific interaction
