World Breastfeeding Week

The Department of Home science in collaboration with Indian Dietetics Association (IDA), Jaipur Chapter, celebrated the World Breastfeeding Week on the 7th of August, 2012. One-day event had many activities merged according to the event. The morning session was dedicated to the creative aspect of the students. An inter-university poster making and slogan writing competition was organized for the students. As many as 100 students took part in this event. The judges praised all the entries and the efforts put in by the students were commendable.
This was followed by guest lecture on Breastfeeding and its Importance, organized by Inner Wheel Club. The guests, Dr. Nupur Kasliwal, Gynecologist, and Dr. Monisha Sahai, Child Specialist, interacted with the students about conception, ways to stop conception, healthy hygiene practices, child birth and finally the importance of breast feeding, both for the new born infant as well as the mother. The students enjoyed the interactive session and were thus enriched by the same.
