Objective: 

This course will enable the students to –

Apparel Design and Sketching

The students will be able to –

CO166: Design garment details with various rendering techniques

 

CO167: Create various textures using different colour mediums

 

CO168: Design garments for various occasions

 

CO169: Develop the ability to create style in the garment through illustration techniques

Approach in teaching:

Interactive Lectures, Discussion, Tutorials, Demonstration

 

Learning activities for the students:

Practical assignments, Simulation, Portfolio Preparation, Giving tasks.

Class test, Semester end examinations, Quiz, Solving problems in tutorials, Assignments, Presentation

 

 

  • Creating textures using different mediums                  10 Hrs
  • Collecting and studying textures
  • Working with different medium and techniques to simulate textures
  • Rendering fabric textures                                          20 Hrs
  • Sketching silhouettes in various fabric textures (fur, satin, denim, tissue, silk, chiffon, knits, plaids, corduroy and others)
  • Garment types and its features in appropriate textures and styles         16 Hrs
  • Garment details (neckline, collars, princess line, yokes, silhouettes, sleeves, pockets etc.)
  • Sketching garments: one each for party wear, beach wear, executive wear & school Unitform
  • Design a costume for a specific event or profession                              14 Hrs
