Concept of atom ,electron, proton, neutron, atomic number, atomic mass, valency Isotopes, Elementary idea of types of bonding (ionic bond, covalent bond, coordinate bond)

Mole Concept

Molecular weight, Equivalent weight, Avogadro’s number, Mole concept, Normality, Molarity

Unit III: 
Volumetric analysis

Titration,Types of titration(brief idea),  end point, indicators, definition and basic idea of pH,buffer.

Unit IV: 
Water

Sources of water, soft and hard water, types of hardness, method of remove hardness-Lime soda methods (hot and cold), zeolite process

Unit V: 
Corrosion

Corrosion of metals-atmospheric, electrochemical; the rusting of iron and steel; Prevention and control of corrosion-protective coatings and linings; care of house hold metals -cleaning, polishing-metal polish
